Entry of Biology into Humanistic Studies

To teach a course based on American texts and artifacts produced between 1800 and 1860. All texts to be used are profoundly political in nature. The materials will be analyzed not only in terms of political science, but also as literary documents. The course will be taught by one professor each from the departments of History and English.
