To develop a general studies humanities curriculum and to make these humanities courses more effective by placing students in a working relationship with practical circumstances, and citizens of a wide range of knowledge and points of view. The program will be community oriented and an advisory council of townspeople will promote the interests of the Muncie community and suggest and help arrange opportunities for off campus education. Three kinds of courses are suggested for the program: 1) departmental courses as already give, 2) broad based studies in the humanities, behavioral sciences, business and technology, and 3) interdisciplinary and community-invovled courses such as "Freedom and Responsibility in America"
