To enable six teachers to be given one-third released time for the 1974-75 academic year to initiate a sequence of three pilot courses in a new Humanities Program for sophomores at Jackson State College. Funds also to provide for consultants during the pilot program and a subsequent evaluation workshop as well as faculty travel, secretarial assistance, and supplies. Proposal to use a "continued classroom" approach. Pre-tests and post-tests will be administered and records kept. On basis of recommendations planning will proceed for further implementation of the program.
