A Pilot Program in Western European Studies

To establish three new interdisciplinary courses designed to prepare students for the Kalamazoo College Foreign Study experience. The three courses and the disciplines on which they are based are; Medieval England and France-Art. French, History; Art and Ideology in 20th Century Europe-English. German, and French; and The Natural, the Supernatural, and the Unnatural in the 16th and 17th Centuries-French. Philosophy, and Religion. Each course will he taught by a three-member faculty team. Following each course an outside evaluator will assess its educational effectiveness and critiqes will be solicited from students and faculty.
