Southeast Missouri State University (Cape Girardeau, MO 63701-4710)
Robert B. Flanders (Project Director: January 1976 to present)

Southwest Missouri State University to offer a six credit, two semester course in Ozark Regional Studies, providing team-taught colloquium style classes of an interdisciplinary nature, field trips in the Ozarks, projects using documentary photography and the collection of documents and other data. In addition, the course offers a "school" for faculty members through an interdisciplinary setting thus dispelling departmental and disciplinary insularity. The course provides a powerful catalyst of influence for the university for interdepartmental co-operation in other areas of study.
