The project on Asian Studies in Education (PASE) at the University of Michigan requests support over a three year period for the purpose of improving teacher training and the teaching of Asian Studies in secondary schools and two and four year colleges. The project includes three major components: a resource center for Asian Studies teaching materials and a coordinator to maintain it; a teacher fellowship for in-service training and teachers' seminars. The Resource Center has already been established with the assistance of The National Committee on U.S.-China relations (money contributed by the committee originated from an NEH grant).
