For an Extended Institute for Foreign Language Teachers which would provide instruction in literature, language, and cross-cultural understanding: insure long-term maintenance of pedagogical skills through extended professional contact; and aim for a revitalization of the language program in high schools in three Southern states. Planned activities include 4 weeks of classes, a 3-day "Inner Institute" for professional dialogue, area workshops and a series of newsletters.
