A three-week institute for twenty-five participants on Mozart's operas The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni, to be held in Vienna, Austria.

The University of Dayton proposes an interdisciplinary Institute for 25 K-12 NEH summer scholars, including 3 graduate students. Mozart's Worlds: The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni, will be held June 16-July 4, 2014, in Vienna, Austria. Participants will be immersed in the history, literary traditions, and environment which produced the two operas selected for the Institute. In addition to studying Mozart's life and these two operas, NEH summer scholars and faculty will read from a variety of primary and secondary sources and write reflectively, leading to the preparation of curricular projects.
