A series of six full-day workshops for forty elementary and secondary school history teachers on Baltimore's history from colonial times through the twentieth century.

The Baltimore City Public School System will conduct a series of six workshops for secondary social studies teachers at Baltimore historical sites and museums. Entitled "Baltimore: Portal to the American Identity," the proposed project will enhance the partnership between the school system and many of Baltimore's museums and historic sites, create educational resources that will improve American history instruction in the school system, and increase the partipants' capacity to utilize local rexources to plan and implement effective standards-based American history lesson plans.
