An eighteen-month workshop series for twenty secondary school teachers on the history of the women's suffrage movement in Washington State.

The centennial of Washington State's passage of women's sufferage provides an opportunity for teachers and students to understand the factors that led to the adoption of women's right to vote ten years prior to the national adoption of women's suffrage. Twenty teachers will participate in a series of seminars over 18 months. The seminars will be led by visiting scholars. and will explore the relationship between Washington's struggle for suffrage to the national effort, including social, cultural, economic, and political factors.
