An investigation into the nature of social inquiry with emphasis on the issues pertaining to the type of knowledge appropriate to social reality. The study will consider the "case" for conceiving of social sciences as differing in degree and not in kind from the natural sciences. The primariy aim is to devlop an argument for a more humanistically oriented conception of social inquiry and knowledge.
