To examine the visigothic-mozarabic chant by comparing motival units in a variety of the chants. Thses medieval liturgical are the only direct musical link we have to the ancient Greco-Roman world. Analysis of chant repertories should yield information on the nature of the music of thses ancient people as well as some understanding of how the music was transformed into the basis of traditional European art music.
