To study the ways in which four great poets have pressed the rhetorization of their art to daring extremes and met with varying success the resultant challenges. To locate, describe, compare and analyse the circumstances of style and theme in the above-named that made their meshing of rhetorical infatuation with their passion for overschematization of human experience not a danger, but an essential reinformcement of their right and need to be heard.
