To study the structure and operations of the mind through metaphors and models. This involves investigation of the metaphors used by influential metaphysicians of the past and the attempt either to resuscitate and remake old metaphors or to invent new ones, e.g. a rival to the subject-predicate theory. Such an exploration is a valuable contribution to the discipline of the philosophy of mind.
