Complete Edition of the Parisian Two Part Organa

Two musicians/Leonin (1165-85) and Perotin (1185-1205)/ composed music for the soloistic portions of the Mass and matins responsories after the cathedral of Notre Dame of Paris began to rise in 1163. This new music for the major feasts of the church year are called organa. This project will be the first comprehensive study of this repertory in English in over twenty years and will include many new discoveries and approaches. Project is two-fold: (a) completion of research and preparation of a final copy of all these organa and clausulae from the printer, comprising 500 pages of musical transcriptions from all know manuscripts in a comparative scoring which will serve both scholar and performer -- the first complete edition of this crucial
