To study Ibn Hazm of Cordova (d.1064) and his conception of the sciences. Ibn Hazm was a belle letrist, poet, historian, theologian: a humanist and an intellectual giant of Islam. This project will be of significance to the intellectual history of Islam and the position of the sciences in Muslim Spain in the 11th century.
