FAIN: FA-11308-76

Ian Watt
Stanford University (Stanford, CA 94305-2004)

To complete a large scale biographical and critical study of Conrad's literary achievement. This perspective will provide a thorough analysis of Conrad's place in the history of European thought in the late 19th century and will show its relation both to his characteristic fictional aims and techniques and to the literary traditions of Romanticism, Realism, Symbolism and Impressionism.
