FAIN: FA-11324-76

Frederick Keener
Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY 11549-1000)

To study the thought of 18th century philosophers such as Rousseau, Diderot as well as Hume and others, including philosophers of history, psychologists, and commentators upon them. Grantee will write a history of the "idea of becoming1' in the period, that would serve as the focal point for a large comparative study of English and French Enlightenment literature.
