Studies on the Latin Backgroud of medieval Spanish Literature

To produce an edition of the Breve Compendium Artis Rethorice of Martinus Cordubensis, a 14th century medieval Spanish treatise. To complete a hand-list of Rhetorical works conserved in manuscript from in the libraries of Northern Spain and Catalonia. To study the library of the Cathedral of Toledo during the Middle Ages, based on the extant catalogues and other documentary sources in the chapter archives. These projects are important steps in the systematic investigation of Hispano-Latin culture, an investigation which will lead to a comprehensive study of rhetorical and poetic theory in late medieval Spain.
