To prepare an annotated translation of Johann Philipp Kirnberger's Kunst des reinen Satzes in der Musik, one of the most important treatises on music written in the latter half of the 18th century. To date there is no translation. Half the year would be spent with the actual process of translation; the remainder would involve the addition of explanatory footnotes and an introduction. This publication would be a valuable source for scholars of that period.
