FAIN: FA-11434-76

Loyd D. Easton
Ohio Wesleyan University (Delaware, OH 43015-2333)

To reassess the P.I.'s criticisms of Karl Marx's treatment of individual liberty as involved in the "right of man" and as related to his defense of democracy, beginning with his early writings, as well as explore Marx's notion of socialism as "positive transcendence" of civil society to determine to what extent this transcendence preserves individual rights and liberties.
