To study the hybrid culture of Early Christian (Arsacid) Armenia, which served as a buffer state between two cultural traditions, classical in the Byzantine Empire and Oriental in Sasanian Iran. A multidisciplinary approach based on the Indo-Iranian as well as on the Classical can permit a balanced study of this complex area.
