To examine the Polish intelligentsia in three historical, social and economic conditions: the old Polish intelligentsia, the intelligentsia in socialist Poland, and the Polish intelligentsia exile. Study will have significance for further comparative-international studies of the intelligentsia, disclosing certain universal characteristics and developmental patterns of this stratum which have begun to appear in the Third World as well as in affluent societies.
