To support field collecting (in native language texts) of myths, folktales and other types of oral literature on the Yuma Indian Reservation and subsequent analysis of material collected. PI will complete a representative sample of the tribe's oral literature and will establish a typology, with attention to the social context and cultural implications of this literature.
