This study centers on a comprehensive examination of his Neoclassical architecture and of his collaboration with Andrew Jackson Downing (1815-1852) on the architectural illustrations in the latter's influential publications. Study will clarify important aspects of Davis' career, tracing the development of Davis' original contributions and the evolution of important design patterns. There will be a comprehensive checklist of his Neoclassical buildings and projects in order to expand knowledge of his works, correct errors, and serve as a guide to the location of materials on specific works.
