To do extensive research, using published and archival sources, on the War on Poverty, which has yet to be treated, in any depth, historically. The findings would result in articles or, possibly, a book. Although the vast social science literature on this topic contains a wealth of information, some of it based on first-hand experience and direct observation, it does not constitute a history of the War on Poverty. Areas to be explored include: the interplay between the War on Poverty and American values concerning individualism, voluntarism, community, democracy, education and youth.
