A three-part study on the technologies of literature. Part I will explore some of the ways technology, as a manifestation of power, is conceived and treated in English and American literature since Spenser. Part II will be concerned with technology as a characteristic of literature itself--in the technique of formal constraint. Part III will consider the technology of literary study.
