The Architectural and Urbanistic History of Venice

This study is part of a larger project, namely a comprehensive history of the urban development of Venice. It will deal with the physical growth of Venice, development of the institutions and laws that governed its growth, and evolution of the civil building types peculiar to it. The plan and building types of Venice reflect both late-antique and medieval Mediterranean traditions. A book will result from study.
