To write a thoroughly-documented, fully researched biography of Anthony Trollope (1815-1882). Of the five major Victorian novelists-Dickens, Thackeray, George Eliot, George Meredith, and Anthony Trollope, Trollope is the only one who does not have a comprehensive biography. This book will fill a genuine need because it will provide a full account of his life, that will make clear his great importance in the literary scene of his day.
