To complete archival research and commence the writing of an intellectual and social biography of George Herbert Mead (1863-1931), American philosopher-psychologist- educator-social reformer. Mead was one of the 4 main figure of the pragmatist school of philosophy, a creator of the "Chicago School". The biography will integrate his social and community activity with his intellectual and academic career to emphasize the conception of the meaning of citizenship in a democratic community.
