A volume of oral testimonies gathered from persons who were children of the "enemies of the people" in the Soviet Union. Such children lost one or both parents to arrest, imprisonment, forced internal exile, forced labor, and/or execution. Child survivors from several categories of "enemies of the people" living in European Russia and in Western Siberia, in villages, towns, and the capital cities, use a similar lexicon to describe their childhood traumas, survival strategies, and long-term lessons and legacies for themselves and their children and grandchildren.
