Builds on a critical analysis of the theories of Victor Zuckerkandl, Donald Gerferson, Susanne Langer and Leonard Meyer. Analysis of popular music--jazz, blues, country, rock--and the tremendous involvement in it, especially by young people. Theory to be a revision and amplification of Fellow's dissertation.
