To provide for research necessary to the preparation of a new critical edition of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde. This edition will include the score with critical notes, the critical apparatus of the poem and an edition of Wagner's prose scenarios for the drama as well as other original documents relating the genesis of the opera and the history of its first production.
