To spend an academic year studying biology as a post-doctoral or special student. The P.I.'s major field of interest in teaching and research is the philosophy of science. The P.I. is concerned philosophically with biology in two ways: 1) Identifying and clarifying certain conceptual issues; 2) Examining the relation between biological knowledge and claims and beliefs about moral and social practices based on it.
