To analyse and to suggest roles for law and legal processess in international conflict resolution, following four major lines of inquiry: 1) Roles for law in defining priorities and purposes; 2) Roles for law in reaching and establishing agreement; 3) Roles for law in grappling with disputes arising from agreements and in maintaining agreed norms; 4) Roles for law in providing mechanisms for change.
