Critical Study of the Works of Anthony Phillip Heinrich

FAIN: FB-11379-72

Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ 08901-8559)
Marilyn Somville (Project Director: January 1973 to present)

To study the holograph collection of musical compositions and correspondance of Anthone Phillip Heinrich (1781-1861) in the Library of Congress. A basic biography of Heinrich was published by W.T. Upton in 1939; Wiley Hitchcock and others have mentioned his work in more recent histories of music in the United States, but a critical study and index of his works are now needed before further assessment of his contribution to American music may be made.
