FAIN: FB-11463-73

James Shotwell Lindzey, Jr
Shelby State Community College (Memphis, TN 38103-3302)

As bronze work of the Benin culture of Nigeria rivaled that of the European cities in the 1100s and was so closely interwoven in their culture that the two were inseparable in their society. Mr. Lindzey's study will concentrate on the cultural aspects of the art in Benin society. He will also make a comparison of casting techniques with early European and primitive cultures.
