To study the dynamics of the personal aspects of the early medieval peasantry in order to gain some insight into some of the ways by which people attempt to improve the quality of their lives within the confines of a relatively restrictive society. The project presents an indication of some of the new lines of investigation which have not been pursued within the context of early medieval society.
