To make an intensive study of the tradtions of medieval humanism as reflected in the writings of Ovid, Virgil, Dante, Cocaccio, Philippe de Mezieres and others, in order to provide students of medieval culture greater insight into specifically medieval modes of perceiving reality through imaginitive fiction.
