To study the natural and rationalistic origins and bases of Chritianity (natural relgion) as it manifested itself in theology, ecclesiastical history, political theory and the history of science on Restoration England. This project will be a contribution toward the study of Tudor-Stuart religious history, and the history of modern Christianity and culture. For natural religion had a significant impact on the whole movement of enlightenment not only in England but on the Continent and in America as well.
