To study the ethical issues in and moral and religious implications of the Holocaust (The Destruction of European Jewry 1933-1945). The literature of moral and religious response during and after the holocaust will be examined. In the post-war period, focus will be on attempts to grasp the patterns of moral performance and to deal with the theological issues posed of Judaism and the moral critiques and responses of Christianity growing out of the event.
