To undertake work on a book dealing with the social and economic history of the State of Maine inteh late 19th century. The publication would combine old photographs with a text composed primarily of extended captions. The scope of the book would be broad, presenting major sectors of Maine's economy in relation to each other--agriculture, manufacturing, lumbering, transportation, shipbuilding and fishing. It will serve as a survey of topics of historical importance to this American locale.
