To carry out research and the writing of a book discussing the origin, character, and influence of the Jeffersonian argument with Federalism from 1789 through 1801. This study, through a search for a different understanding of the nature and political importance of ideological disagreements, contributes to our knowledge of the ideas of the republic's founders and to our understanding of the influence of these ideas in the shaping of the institutions and political parties of the new nation.
