To study, and develop solutions to, the problems involves in the formulation of a sociology of literature which will do justice to both the sociological and to the literary perspective. To investigate writings in Marxist philosophy and the sociology of knowldge which both demonstrate the relativity of all forms of knowledge, and suggest methods of analysis which explicitly account for, and incorporate within themselves, the realtive character of their own mode of knowledge.
