To prepare a critical edition of the complete Correspondence between Denis Diderot, 18th Century French author, and Etienne Falconet, a contemporary sculptor. P.I. will be working with Herbert Dieckmann, the leading Diderot scholar, to restore as nearly as possible the original form of the letters involved in this famous exchange on the theme of the artist and posterity.
