“ To study man's concept of God in the development of naturalistic art. To teach African art from a purely aesthetic point of view is as meaningless as watching a symphony from a soundproof booth. No one has done research dealing directly with this concept, i.e. the importance of having a sound knowledge of the development of religion! and how religion relates to the teaching of African art.
