Philosophy and Sociological Theory: with Special Attention to Social Contract Theories & the Concepts of "Consent11 & "Social Roles" This project involves an attempt to draw some parallels between discussions of the nature of human sociality from the perspectives of political philosophy and socialogical theory. Special attention will be given to the concepts of social contract and consent as they are viewed by selected political philosophers of the modern era, and the concept of the social role in sociological theory. The project will review the literature in political philosophy relevant to this study, do a systematic study of some writings in sociological theory and philosophy of the social sciences, and write with the intention of producing a book on this topic.
