South of France To study the evolution of the relationships between popular and high culture in the South of France. This four-part study penetrate the evolution of these changing relationships in their historical context and of the modes of research in intellectual history. To explore Old Provencal literature in its historical context and then to consider the attempts to reestablish a fruitful rapport between popular and high culture. There is no previous research in this field.
