To work towards a manuscript on Adlai Stevenson and American liberalism Manuscript will attempt to analyze Stevenson's thought on the .American political system, international relations, and history; and to relate Stevenson to the liberal political philosophy that merged from the New Deal and received broad acceptance in the post-World War II era. Adlai E. Stevenson will be treated as both symbol of and spokesman for American liberalism in the post-1954 era.
