" To study ancient rhetoric, the origins of Rome in myth and fact, and tt origins of the world in legend, particularly "sexuality." To consider the tradition of obscenity in ancient literature, particularly in Aristophanes, the legal status of women, and the conventions of sexuality in literature, particularly in the epic and novel. To prepare an annotated bibliography on love and sexuality in antiquity, and to consider what the relationship of the non-literary sources is to the literature.
